As Paper Tiger and Deep Dish have transitioned from producing work, PAW Media's mission is to continue the preservation and public availability of Paper Tiger Television and Deep Dish Television's bodies of work.

Paper Tiger and Deep Dish programs, in their innovative production methods and incisive analysis of mainstream media, are an invaluable resource for activists, educators and media makers.

Our programs are free to view. Licensing fees are required if our programs are used in any commercial programming.

Paper Tiger T.V.

Paper Tiger is a video collective founded in the early 1980s that developed a unique, handmade, irreverent aesthetic that experimented with the television medium by combining art, academics, politics, performance and live television. It was founded on the ideal that freedom of speech through access to the means of communication is essential in a democratic society.

PTTV productions are invaluable video documentation of the ideas and insights of some of our nation's most notable media critics and public intellectuals. Today's burgeoning independent media movement can trace its roots directly to the network of media activists developed by PTTV.

Deep Dish T.V.

Deep Dish Television was the first public access television distribution network in the United States. Created in 1986 by Paper Tiger Television, the network was committed to exploring new and democratic ways of promoting video artwork and reporting. Their programs connected artists, independent videomakers, programmers, and social activists, and covered political topics such as the environmental movement, U.S. healthcare, and the Iraq War.
