  • Street Sheet

This show provides a behind the scenes look at this San Francisco newspaper produced and distributed by homeless individuals. The publication focuses on the problems of homeless people in the city, and on issues of poverty and housing. Founded on 1989, Street Sheet is second only to the Street News as the oldest existing street newspaper in the United States. The paper provides an ideal forum for the homeless to speak out against San Francisco’s continual “beautification” projects and stigmas against homelessness proliferated through the mass media; it works as a means to open up dialogues between the homeless writers and members of the community in which they live.
