  • William Kunstler Reads The U.S. Constitution

William Kunstler, civil rights activist and lawyer for the Black Panthers, the Weathermen and the Chicago 7, looks at the people who signed the Constitution and asks who was left out: Blacks, Indians, Women and Poor people. He also looks at the erosion of the principles stated in the Bill of Rights such as freedom of press, of due process of law and right to legal counsel. The show closes with a performance of legendary New York punk band A.P.P.L.E. based on Kunstler’s sonnets about the erosion of rights and liberties.
