Cheche Martinez shows the face of the Mexican public that the US media didn’t want you to see during the 1994 Mexican elections. Shot in Mexico, this video examines the repression, fraud and intimidation that kept Mexico’s “official” party, the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the country’s preeminent political organization from 1929 until the early 1990s, in power for decades. Though we in the US have been led to believe that the 1994 elections were the fairest to date, you’ll see ample evidence to the contrary. In Spanish with English subtitles.
