What is a collective?

A collective is an organization that strives to break down hierarchy. We have no executive director, no managers, and no bosses. All major decisions are made at collective meetings by consensus.

To operate collectively means challenging dominant power relationships, and seeking to build horizontal ones. This requires an equitable distribution of resources, an ability to listen and understand the experiences of others, and above all, trust. Our collective seeks to embody the change we wish to see in the world with everything we make, and distribute. This means fostering a working environment of mutual respect and support that lifts people up rather than tearing them down.
